Meet the team
Sharif Sharifzadeh, B. Eng., MSc
Lead, Electrical EngineeringSharif Sharifzadeh leads electrical design at Spiralis Medical.
Prior to joining Spiralis, Sharif held a Principal R&D Electrical Test Specialist in electrophysiology position at Boston Scientific developing automated test equipment, multilayer PCB systems, and multi-kilovolt fast-pulse generators for pulsed-field ablation (PFA) technologies. His work also included the development of novel electromechanical components to significantly reduce program costs.
Previously, Sharif spent four years at Zimmer Biomet (2021–2025), working across electronics, mechanics, robotics, and medical-device development, including the ROSA Robotic Surgery platform and ultrasound imaging systems. He completed 14 cross-functional innovation projects that contributed to six patents.
His earlier experience includes R&D at Respitronics, contributing to continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump development, and at Ista Ertebat Kavoshgar, where he designed nationwide industrial telemetry systems and an automated water-purification dispensing kiosk. In parallel, he has spent more than a decade as an independent technical consultant, completing over 50 projects across medical devices, robotics, electronics, and consumer technology.
A multidisciplinary inventor and technical specialist, Sharif focuses on taking technically challenging ideas from concept through prototyping and implementation. He holds or has contributed to more than 15 patents and inventions spanning surgical navigation, implantable sensing, robotic medication dispensing, tactile-sensing robotics, dental technologies, and point-of-care systems for early heart-failure detection.
Sharif holds a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Azad University (2014–2017).
